Dr. Brian Scott, DVM
Dr. Brian Scott has been practicing at Iron Mountain Animal Hospital since 2004. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Dr. Scott continued his education at the University Of Wisconsin School Of Veterinary Medicine, where he received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Scott is a general practitioner with special interests in orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, and preventive care. He is a member of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association.
When Dr. Scott is not practicing veterinary medicine, he is spending time with his wife Michelle, his three children Josie, Wyatt and Evan, and their golden retriever, Macie. He enjoys being involved with his children’s activities, the community, and all of the outdoor activities the area has to offer.

Dr. Jordan Hughey, DVM
Dr. Hughey grew up in Cassopolis, MI. In 2003 she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science from Michigan State University. In 2007 she received her veterinary degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
She originally joined the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital in 2007 and in March 2008 returned to her hometown of Cassopolis. In 2011, she rejoined the staff of IMAH. Dr. Hughey enjoys all medical and surgical aspects of small animal veterinary medicine. She has most recently received additional training in dentistry and soft tissue surgeries. She splits her time between our two clinic locations.
Dr. Hughey resides in the Norway area with her husband and two daughters. Her interests outside of work include farm work with their horses, trail riding, and hiking in the outdoors. Her pets are her horses, her dog, cat, and laying hens.

Dr. Lindsy Alessandrini, DVM
Dr. Alessandrini grew up in Iron Mountain, MI. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Michigan University in 2006. In 2012 she received her veterinary degree from Michigan State University. Dr. Alessandrini joined the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital as a veterinarian in December of 2014. Dr. Alessandrini was a familiar face as she had worked here as a veterinary assistant before being accepted into veterinary school!
She now lives in the Iron Mountain area with her husband Mario, daughter Kinslee, dogs Premo, Ella, and Sky, and cats Arrow, Chief, and Jewels

Dr. James Nicolas, DVM
Dr. Nicolas grew up in Iron Mountain Michigan. He attended Northern Michigan University for two years. He earned his B.S. Degree in Biology from Michigan State University. In 1976 he earned his DVM degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He moved back to Iron Mountain upon graduating and started his career in veterinary medicine by joining the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital.
Dr. Nicolas is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association
He has volunteered many hours serving on the board of Wildlife Unlimited of Dickinson County for the past 30 years, including past-president. He also served 15 years on the Fume Lake Board of Dickinson County, as well as on the Board of the Almost Home Animal Shelter.
His interests outside of work include skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, and great-lakes fishing. Dr. Nicolas lives in Iron Mountain with his wife, Mary Jean. They have two grown children, one granddaughter, and one grandson.

Dr. Andrea Wodzinski
Dr. Andrea Wodzinski grew up just outside Chicago where she was raised with a small zoo of animals including dogs, cats, small mammals, parrots, and turtles. She graduated from Michigan Technological University in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and fell in love with the Upper Peninsula during this time. In 2016, she graduated from Michigan State University with her veterinary degree. In June 2016, she joined the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian.
Dr. Andrea's veterinary interests include small mammal exotic medicine, clinical pathology, preventative and geriatric medicine, and behavior medicine.
Dr. Andrea lives with her golden retriever named Peanut, fish, and far too many houseplants. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys long distance running, cross country skiing, roller derby, and video games.

Dr. Julie Chouinard
Dr. Chouinard is a 1988 graduate of Gladstone Area High School and a 1997 graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating from veterinary school, she completed a six month internship at Foster-Smith Animal Hospital in Minocqua, Wisconsin. In 1998 she established Your Front Door Mobile Veterinary Clinic. Your Front Door Mobile Veterinary Clinic was the first and only mobile veterinary clinic in both Delta and Menominee County. Dr. Chouinard remained a self-employed mobile veterinary practitioner from 1998 until October 2006, when she decided to become an associate at a brick and mortar veterinary clinic. She joined the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital and Norway Veterinary Clinic in 2019.
Dr. Chouinard is married to Todd Chouinard a public safety officer for the City of Escanaba. They have two beautiful daughters, Sydney and Paige. Dr. Chouinard and her husband are also parents of 2 dogs, 3 cats and 2 guinea pigs. In her spare time Dr. Chouinard enjoys camping, fishing, vacationing, walking, biking, hiking and teaching her daughters compassion and love for all animals.

Dr. Emily Schendel
Dr. Schendel is originally from the Wisconsin side of the northwoods; growing up in Ashland, she is the only one of her nine siblings to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a veterinarian. From a young age she not only enjoyed learning to care for multiple species but also building lasting relationships with the people that came with.
To pursue her career, Dr. Schendel attended the University of Wisconsin at River Falls to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. She then took a year off to spend a winter training professional sled dogs in northern Minnesota, where she met her husband Logan. The following four years she spent at the University of Wisconsin-Madison earning her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
Upon graduation, Dr. Schendel worked in a rural mixed animal practice in northern Wisconsin, gaining valuable training in multiple aspects of veterinary practice. She is excited to join the team at IMAH and looks forward to meeting clients and providing veterinary care for their animals, whatever the species!
When not at work, Dr. Schendel enjoys family time with her husband, Logan, daughter Silvia, along with their 2 cats and 2 dogs. Her hobbies include canicross, volunteering at sled dog races, baking and enjoying movies.
