Heidi “I began my journey with the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital in April of 1993. My role has been an incredible journey, caring for clients and their pets. I will continue to serve as long as I can contribute.”

Heidi is our Technical Team Supervisor. I’m here to ensure the best care for our 4 legged friends and provide a wonderful client experience. Technical Team Supervisor Shelly Shelly grew up in Mayville, WI on a produce farm. She went to Northern Michigan University and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. She married Jonathan in 2006 and moved to Indiana where she worked at a local veterinarian practice. Jonathan and Shelly moved to Iron Mountain in May 2009 and she began working for the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant in July. They welcomed a son, Josiah, in Feb 2011, and a daughter, Eva, in July 2013. Her family resides in Iron Mountain and is very involved in their community. They currently have 4 cats (Annabella, Esmeralda, Ozzie, and Violet) and two adorable Boston Terriers named Mookie and Mango. Veterinary Assistant Michelle Michelle has been a veterinary technician at IMAH since 2002. She has always been an animal lover. She attended Bay De Noc Community College and received a veterinary assistant certificate. She then attended Argosy University in Minnesota where she received an Associates in Applied Science degree. After completing an externship in Gwinn, MI, she became a Certified Veterinary Technician. In 2008 after taking the Michigan state exam, she became a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

Michelle grew up in Foster City, MI and now lives there with her husband and two children. She has one dog, one cat, 2 house rabbits, 3 fish, and 8 chickens. LVT Laura Laura started working at Iron Mountain Animal Hospital in February 2016. She graduated from University of Wisconsin: Stevens Point in May 2012 with a degree in Wildlife Ecology and Captive Wildlife. Prior to joining the IMAH team she worked for two years as a zookeeper at Wildwood Wildlife Park in Minocqua, WI.

Laura lives in Pembine with her husband, Kent, and their dogs Mako and Ember. When not working she enjoys hiking, photography, creating stained glass art, and spending time with family and friends. Veterinary Assistant Skye Skye received her Veterinary Assistant Certificate through Animal Behavior College in January 2019, joining the team at Iron Mountain Animal Hospital that same month. “Working with animals, through the good and bad, the happy and sad, and everything in between brings so much reward to my life”

Skye was born and raised in Iron Mountain. She enjoys anything outdoors, creating/crafting, music, family time and time with her dogs Molly and Scooter, her three cats Milo, Marnie and Nola, and her husband Alex. Veterinary Assistant/Client Care Specialist Kristy Kristy started working at the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital in 2018. She is our laboratory supervisor and works behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly and is always there to lend a helping hand. Licensed Veterinary Technician Ky Ky joined the IMAH team in September 2022 after working in the veterinary field in Oregon and Colorado the year prior to moving to the area. Right now she is taking time off of school and tackling the new adventure of having a baby in the house!

Ky currently lives in Laona, WI with her boyfriend, dog (Ronnie) and four cats (Magni, Chilombo, Zypherus and Luna). Veterinary Assistant Roberta I became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2013. I am passionate about people having all the information they need to care for their fur families. I have two cats; Gus and Trouble and mother/daughter chihuahua rescues; Baby and Rose. Certified Veterinary Technician Callee Callee grew up in Houghton Lake, MI. She moved to the UP in 2016 to attend college at Northern Michigan University. She graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. After graduating from college she moved to Iron Mountain where she still currently lives with her husband and 2 dogs, Craig and Olive. Callee has worked as a veterinary assistant for the last four years at a clinic in Crivitz, WI. She is currently attending Penn Foster to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Veterinary Assistant Lorraine Lorraine joined the IMAH team in 2025 as a Veterinary Assistant. She brings experience from her time working at Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (UPAWS) as both an animal caretaker and supervisor, as well as in dog boarding and daycare in Marquette.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from NMU in 2018 and plans to continue her education to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

Lorraine lives with her husband Cody, their dogs (Sadie and Rosie) and four cats (Cleo, Paloma, Fergus, and Pancake). In her free time, she enjoys gardening, selling plants and handmade crafts at local farmer’s markets, crocheting, sewing, and painting. Veterinary Assistant Brenna Brenna joined IMAH in November 2025. She has been working as a veterinary assistant since 2018, and graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She currently lives in Stephenson, MI with her fiance, Riley, their dogs, Libby and Tate, house cats, Cosmo and Fleetwood, barn cats, Stevie, Minnie, and Poppy, and their hobby farm of show cattle and donkeys. Veterinary Assistant Kenzi I am 22 years old and am from Gladstone, Michigan. I grew up surrounded by a close-knit community and a deep appreciation for animals. From an early age, I found myself drawn to caring for them, which led me to spend seven summers volunteering at my local animal shelter. That experience taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of building trust with animals who needed comfort and care.

My passion continued to grow as I worked for four years at a dog kennel, where I trained many dogs and developed a strong understanding of animal behavior. One of my proudest accomplishments was helping train our doodle to become a therapy dog for Gladstone High School, knowing the positive impact it would have on students. I also spent time working as a dog groomer, gaining hands-on experience in maintaining animal health and well-being.

Through these experiences, I’ve discovered a clear direction for my future. I hope to return to school to become a veterinary technician, allowing me to turn my passion into a lifelong career dedicated to helping animals and supporting the people who care for them.
