  Shelly - Veterinary Assistant

Shelly joined the IMAH team in July 2009. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology from Northern Michigan University, graduating in 2004. Prior to coming to IMAH she worked at a veterinary clinic in Indiana.

“I enjoy the client interaction in the exam room. It's fascinating when we have an unusual case that comes in and the patient is able to be helped. I also enjoy assisting with surgeries as it is a nice change of pace for the work week.”

Shelly lives in Iron Mountain with her husband, Jonathan and son, Josiah. They are awaiting the arrival of their second baby. When not at work, Shelly volunteers for the City of Iron Mountain Main Street program, plays on a co-ed softball team, enjoys reading, exploring the community, swimming and spending time with her family.

 Crystal - Veterinary Assistant

Crystal started working at Iron Mountain Animal Hospital in January 2005. In 2008 she moved to Texas and Colorado and continued her work as a veterinary assistant while there. In 2010 she returned to Iron Mountain and joined IMAH again. Crystal attended Bay College and graduated with an Associate in Applied Science with a certificate in veterinary assisting.

“I enjoy the lovable animals. Every day is always different working at IMAH, and the work is always challenging me.”

Crystal lives in the Iron Mountain area with her Boston Terrier, Lilah and her cat, Simba. She enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and her friends. When not at work, she likes to spend time on their house boat in the summer, snowmobiling in the winter, and side-by-side riding on their Polaris RZR.

  Katie - Veterinary Assistant

Katie has been working at Iron Mountain Animal Hospital since September 2010. You can find her behind the front desk as a receptionist, but Katie is also one of our veterinary assistants. Katie graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. In 2008 she began working as a veterinary assistant in Escanaba. In 2010 she moved back to Iron Mountain to be closer to her family.

“Working together with my coworkers to help our clients and their wonderful pets makes my job here at IMAH great and I love what I do!”

Katie lives in Loretto with her husband and their crazy menagerie of pets! They have two cats, an Australian Shepherd, two gerbils, and a cockatiel. Outside of work Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and family, 4-wheeling, camping, and reading a good book with her cats on her lap and her dog curled up at her feet!

Kay- Certified Veterinary Assistant

Kay joined the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital team in September of 2014.  She is a certified veterinary assistant, graduating from the Horizon School of Veterinary Assisting in 2007.  Upon graduation, she worked for the Fox Valley Animal Referral Center until 2009, and then for the Kaukauna Veterinary Clinic until moving to Pembine in 2014.

Living in Pembine with her husband and daughter she also has three Gordon Setters, a cat and a Degu (rodent).  She enjoys reading, attending her daughter's high school extracurricular activities, and of course relaxing!

"I really love the job I have with the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital.  I learn something new everyday.  I especially enjoy meeting a new puppy or kitten and watching them grow into adults."
